It was a joy for the Meetinghouse to contribute to Christmas festivities this year in downtown Salem. Jennifer Bell and the gang at Salem Main Streets Initiative coordinated the events and put together a wonderful evening for the city. The Meetinghouse was thrilled that we could help out and appreciates all their hard work. Many thanks go to Bill's Auto Clinic (who volunteered their time to transport the tree) and to all the other volunteers who made this happen (Salem Beautification Committee, Salem Public Service Dept., Asplundh Tree Service, and the contributions made to decorate the tree). Without all these volunteers this fun evening would never have happened. The pictures below are a chronology of the tree's journey from Carpenter's Tree Farm in Springvale, Maine to the Essex Street Mall in downtown Salem. Next year we hope to keep the tradition going. The search has already begun for next years tree!
