The MeetingHouse Church
Meetinghouse FAQ's

We believe that the family is the place where life happens. More than church, playgroup, school, or on the playground, each family is a theological community where parents must be the moral and spiritual educators of their children. The church was never meant to replace parents. Nor was it meant to be the spiritual educators of your children. The purpose of the church is to equip you, the parents, to educate and raise your children in the Lord.

At the Meetinghouse we believe that self-awareness and God-awareness is not a once a week experience. It is a 24-7-365 day a year life-style that must be nurtured, cultivated, and genuinely lived out by parents in their marriage, the home, at work and in all of life. Kids understand the gospel best when parents powerfully incorporate into their home and everyday life what it means to follow Jesus.

On Sunday mornings the MeetingHouse integrates our children as best we can into the early moments of our time together. We express to them how God's grace in Christ is central to all we do, how we give God thanks and praise, how we pray and care for one another, and how the gospel informs all of life. After our initial time of singing, confession and the Lord's Table toddlers leave and meet for kid play in another room while school age kids (up to age 12) receive an age appropriate bible lesson. Teens stay with adults during our entire meeting.
